Voters of Massachusetts, you have lived through a failed state health care plan under Mitt Romney; you know what this could do on a national scale. Please do NOT vote to elect Martha Coakley. She is more of the same: big government, higher taxes, WRONG health care reform, and an Obamabot.
Please vote for Scott Brown. He is a conservative who promises not to vote for the Obama-initiated health care plan. That is enough to push him over the top and into a Congressional seat. Get the vote out--tell all your friends and family who live in Massachusetts to vote for real change, not more of the same. Coakley is in the mold of Sen. Ted Kennedy and Obama, and what has that done for Massachusetts lately? Also, get the word out--if a REPUBLICAN-initiated universal state health care plan did not work, why would it work on a national scale? SPEAK UP and VOTE--it is one of the greatest privileges we have!

Though efforts to pass a constitutional amendment protecting parental rights have failed in the past, two U.S. legislators are preparing to reintroduce the idea this week; and this time, they say, the effort is backed by more than 60 congressional members.
Rep. Peter Hoekstra, R-Mich., who introduced a parental rights amendment by himself last year, told the Agence France-Presse that he will be joined by Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C., on Tuesday as they renew the fight.
According to a statement released to AFP by Hoekstra's office, the amendment "would clearly outline in the U.S. Constitution that parents, not government or any other organization, have a fundamental right to raise their children as they see fit."
"At a time when government at every level seems to encroach upon the ability of parents to choose the best for their children," Hoekstra writes on his website, "it is important to preserve parental rights into the Constitution."

Last summer Hoekstra introduced H.J.R. 97, proposing a constitutional amendment stating that the liberty of parents to direct the upbringing and education of their children is a fundamental right that cannot be infringed upon by federal, state, or international treaty law without demonstrating government interest "of the highest order." Hoekstra asserts that legitimate cases of abuse and neglect fall under the "demonstrated government interest" clause.
Without any co-sponsors, however, H.J.R 97 died in committee.
According to ParentalRights.org, an organization dedicated to seeing the amendment passed, this year's effort, in addition to senatorial support from DeMint, has recruited 65 U.S. representatives who have committed to joining Hoekstra in co-sponsoring a parental rights amendment.
As WND reported, the president of the world's premier homeschool advocacy organization made a case for the amendment in a Washington Times commentary published last year:
"Few dispute the vital role of parents in raising the next generation, but, regrettably, few recognize that the fundamental role of parents is under direct attack," wrote J. Michael Smith, president of the Homeschool Legal Defense Association.
Smith pointed to the U.N. Convention on the Rights of the Child, an internation treaty approved by the Clinton administration but stalled by opposition in the Senate, as one example of governmental attempts to infringe on parental rights.
"It's possible that in the near future, the United States may significantly weaken the rights of parents to raise their children," Smith wrote. "Crucial decisions that parents are accustomed to making, such as what our children read, who they associate with, what kind of discipline is used, whether we take them to church, or whether we homeschool, all become decisions for the state if the United States ratifies the U.N. Convention on the Rights of the Child."
He continued, "By allowing the government to define and determine what is in the 'best interests of the child,' outside the context of abuse and neglect cases, the UNCRC in effect diminishes the parental role, replacing it with government supervision."
As WND reported, Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., last month urged a hurry-up timetable for adoption of the UNCRC.
"Children deserve basic human rights ... and the convention protects children's rights by setting some standards here so that the most vulnerable people of society will be protected," Boxer said, according to Fox News.
Critics like Smith, however, argue the document, which creates "the right of the child to freedom of thought, conscience and religion" usurps the role of parents in directing their children's upbringing.
Hoekstra used a 3-minute video clip, viewable below, to explain how, he believes, parental rights are being overlooked in the nation's capitol and why a parental rights amendment is needed:
Opponents of the amendment, such as those that opposed a Colorado state version proposed in the 1990's, argue that the measure would protect child abusers, make public schools a battleground for parents' ideological issues and prevent teenage students from receiving sex education and family planning services through their schools.
Rob Boston, assistant director of communications for Americans United for Separation of Church and State argued against the amendment in a blog post last month, making many of the same arguments lodged against the Colorado initiative.
Boston also argued that the amendment is a back door approach to mixing public education dollars and religion, claiming through the amendment "states would be forced to give parents tuition vouchers for private and religious schooling since the right to direct a child's education would be enshrined in the Constitution."
Sen. DeMint, who will join Hoekstra in offering the amendment, has been involved in similar legislation in the past. DeMint was a co-sponsor of the Parents' Rights Empowerment and Protection Act of 2007, which required schools to obtain written parental permission before teaching children about sex or sexuality.
DeMint's bill, like Hoekstra's in 2008, never made it out of committee.
To succeed, the amendment Hoekstra and DeMint plan to introduce Tuesday will need to pass in both the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate by two-thirds majorities each, then win ratification by three-fourths of the states.

There's little doubt America is a center-right nation, which is why Barack Obama denies and conceals his liberalism and packages himself as a harbinger of hope and change.
Obama's policies represent change all right: change from almost everything our Founding Fathers considered sacred and vital to the preservation of individual liberty in America.
He also offers hope: hope for those who share his shame in what America has become, what it stands for, and what makes it unique in world history. Hope that an unenlightened America can be remade by this "transformational" man in an image pleasing to George Soros, the Hollywood elite, MoveOn.org, the Daily Kos and Michael Moore.
But if labels bother you, let's look at Obama's alliances and policies and let them speak for themselves.
If you are so intoxicated with "hope" that you believe Obama wasn't aware of, and not in sync with, the Rev. Wright's militantly racist and anti-American views or his black liberation theology, then it's probably too much to ask for you to be objective about his links to Bill Ayers and ACORN.
Instead of restating Ayers' despicable actions and beliefs, I just want to know whether Obama believes Ayers has been rehabilitated, which he suggests when he touts him as "a professor of education." Though Obama says he was just 8 years old during Ayers' Pentagon-bombing days, he doesn't mention that he was an adult when he served on boards with Ayers, launched his state Senate campaign at his home, and gave a glowing jacket endorsement for Ayers' book. Nor does he tell you that, just a few short years ago, Ayers stomped on the American flag and reaffirmed his pride in his criminal acts.
Concerning ACORN, what do you suppose the mainstream media would do to John McCain if an organization he represented, whose members he trained and who he promised would play a pivotal role in formulating his presidential policy agenda, were caught red-handed trying systematically to subvert the election process throughout America?
As for Obama's leftist policy positions and attitudes, how do you think the following would sit with most Americans?
His enabling of infanticide by arguing and voting against the Induced Birth Infant Liability Act in the Illinois Senate, which would have protected babies who survive failed abortions.
His support of open borders and driver's licenses for illegal immigrants.
His casual endorsement of Marxist redistribution of wealth.
His plan to let the Bush tax cuts expire, resulting in a massive tax increase for tens of millions, and his tax credits to tens of millions more not paying income taxes, all while fibbing that he's going to cut income taxes for 95 percent of Americans.
His plans to increase spending an estimated $1.3 trillion, not to mention the obscene dollars he would send overseas with the Global Poverty Act.
His condemnation of our liberation of Iraq from the brutal dictator Saddam Hussein in furtherance of our national security interests yet promising military interventions for humanitarian reasons where we clearly have no national interests at stake.
His opposition to the surge in Iraq and his plan to withdraw and jeopardize our imminent victory and the region's stability.
His reckless plan to embroil us in a quagmire in Afghanistan and agitate Pakistan, our important ally in the war on terror.
His naive commitment to negotiate with tyrants without preconditions.
His inclination toward unilateral nuclear disarmament.
His constant references to America's former greatness and his promises to restore our position of respectfulness in the world, betraying his full agreement that we've earned this supposed international disrespect.
His forfeiture of American sovereignty to international bodies in obeisance to the pantheistic religion of global warming.
His Kerryesque schizophrenia on guns and the Second Amendment.
His derision of small-town Americans as bitter clingers.
His thuggish approach toward those who dare to oppose him, such as Joe the Plumber, or anyone in St. Louis, whose criticism could have subjected them to criminal prosecution.
His outright mocking of the Bible while adamantly insisting he's a strong Christian: "Which passages of Scripture should guide our public policy? Should we go with Leviticus, which suggests slavery is OK and that eating shellfish is abomination? How about Deuteronomy, which suggests stoning your child if he strays from the faith? Or should we just stick to the Sermon on the Mount — a passage that is so radical that it's doubtful that our own Defense Department would survive its application?"
Truthfully, I'm barely getting started. But can you honestly tell me Obama would have a prayer of being elected if he were honest about his agenda and allies and if the media, which share his radical views, weren't in the tank for him?

Beware the Evils of Socialism--from one who knows
Welcome to my new Blogsite! This is the first time I've tried anything like this to get the word out, so please bear with me, and let me know how you like it.
I received a post from my online friend, PatriotGreg, regarding the impending prospect of Socialism here in America if Obama is elected. I decided to post here a summary of my response to him.
Thank you, PatriotGreg, for your insightful remarks. Growing up with a father who was an immigrant from Poland when it was still a Socialist nation (he was 30 in the late '60's when he emigrated from Poland), our father made sure that we knew what a great country we lived in. He reminded us often of the difficulties to be had under a Socialist system, and we hoped and prayed it would never come to that here in America. Socialism destroys the "American dream": hard work resulting in the realization of one's dreams will be a thing of the past. To summarize what may happen here, with high probability, if Obama's Socialist ideas are realized and implemented:
1. Everyone has a job, but you will get paid diddly-squat (Doctors--no more high salaries for you. In Poland, they were one of the lowest paid employees.) So much for trying to feed and clothe your families--it will be much more difficult than it is now.
2. Long food lines, food rationed, very little food to go around.
3. Personal property will be stripped from you and will go to those in Government. They will be the only ones with any wealth to speak of.
4. You won't be able to own a home or more than one. My father's family of 7 lived in a 800 sq. ft. apartment under Socialist Poland.
5. Government runs everything. (Look out business and banks being bailed out by Big Brother!)
6. Taxes go up on EVERYONE. (Does no one realize that Obama doesn't have to sign new taxes into law, he just has to let the Bush tax cuts "expire" for our taxes to go up?)
7. Because of taxes on small and large businesses, there is no incentive to work hard and succeed.
8. Health care will be worse than you ever imagined. You will have to wait months for an appointment for specialized care, surgery, testing, etc. Equipment will be run down or not available to provide proper services.
9. Free speech will disappear overnight. Anyone who speaks out against the government will be punished ( Read about Fr. Maximillian Kolbe of Poland, or any of the heroes who tried to operate underground groups and papers to try and undermine the Socialist government).
10. Freedom of religion will be frowned upon and suppressed. If anyone in a church speaks out against the evils of Socialism, they will be imprisoned or have worse fates.
11. Gun control will be strict. In Poland, no one was allowed to have a gun except for the military. So much for the people trying to defend themselves against common criminals, much less the government!
These are just a few of the many "wonderful" things we will undergo under Socialism. Please be aware and share with others before it is too late!
